When directions to the ceremony have details like “take a right on the second trail into the dunes and then turn right at the second fire pit area in the sand”, you know this wedding is going to be something special. Michelle & Bob’s romantic ceremony on the shores of Elberta Beach in Northern Michigan was unique, beautiful and could not have been more perfect.

As guests made their way up the path the first stop was a shoe valet where they were invited to leave their shoes behind and get their toes in the sand. Just up the path was a refreshment station complete with cold, fruit infused water. And just past the welcome sign, as you arrived at the top of the path, was the breathtaking ceremony location complete with panoramic views of Lake Michigan and the dunes. Stacy and her team from Juniper & Lace Events definitely got their workout carrying the cross back chairs, arch, and ceremony decor to set the stage for this one.

Hidden in the sand dunes, away from the guests and surrounded by a “dressing room” of colorful sheets, Michelle stepped into her dress. A few feet away her 3 adorable little girls laughed and played in the soft sand. They will have happy memories of running along the beach, twirling, dancing and making sand angels on mom’s wedding day.

Maude, the sweet English Bulldog did an amazing job walking the groom up the aisle. She seemed to think the day was about her as she managed to photo bomb as many images as she could make her way into.

After some fun, playful and romantic photos of the newlyweds on the beach, we made our way back to their home and a yard transformed by Stacy and the Juniper & Lace Events team. It was colorful, rustic, intimate, romantic, and elegant all at the same time.

Everyone enjoyed tacos and sliders from Betty’s Hot Dish food truck. As the sun began to set they chatted and played games in the back yard while savoring incredibly sticky toasting marshmallows over the bon fire.

But the best part of the entire day, the part that made me go home with my heart full and a smile on my face, was seeing the obvious love between Michelle & Bob.
